Abstract.<\/strong> The article brings several major conclusions. Monastic Orthodox culture is a spiritual deed and it is expressed in a voluntary effort for assimilation of God by His grace and personal faith and works. Following on from this finding, an attempt is made to be described the place of the perfect Christian (monk) in a society permeated by Christianity. His manifestations of this plane are not essential expressions of monastic culture, but rather are the consequences of his position in the eyes of the others. Monks are celebrated as men with a halo of holy who have a strong prayer in front of the Lord and they rise as defenders of Orthodoxy. They also become distributors of Christian literature and assume a place in the courts of kings.
\nThe inhabitants of monasteries contribute to strengthen the Christian consciousness among Orthodox peoples. Their special role as a vent and as a sustainer of the society is assessed at different mental levels \u2013 from the educated upper class of society and also from common people in Medieval Bulgaria.<\/p>\n

Abstract.<\/strong> The purpose of this article is through an analysis of some aspects of the Anglo-Dutch economic rivalry and political life of England and the United Provinces to shed light on the causes behind the fi rst of the series of confl icts (First Anglo-Dutch War from 1652 to 1654) between the two countries during the second half of the XVII century. The key point in this process is the change of regime in England after 1649 when, within the republican experiment and Protectorate, Parliament has increasingly came under the infl uence of commercial circles. Most researchers indicate the Navigation Act (1651) as a direct cause of the outbreak of the war. But this is ultimately the result that comes from internal changes in England that push forward merkantilist interests and also from increased British power which ultimately provoked the British to want more than what the Dutch can offer.<\/p>\n

UNKNOWN MARGINAL NOTE FROM TOWN ELENA FOR THE RUSSO-TURKISH WAR (1877-1878)<\/strong><\/p>\n

Abstract.<\/strong> In 1878 an unknown author from town called Elena left a marginal note in the journal „Bulgarska starina“ published by G. St. Rakovski. The note contains information regarding the Russo-Turkish war (1877\u20131878). Positioned on four pages of the journal, it is a valuable source concerning 1877-1878. Here the note is published for the first time. Its facsimile is presented, taken from a digital copy of the journal. Subject of interest are the philological features in the manuscript. To facilitate the reader, a normalised text is included as well. The information provided by the marginal note is examined against the background of the historical events of the war. After analysis was carried out, it was proven that the note represents the events truly. The will of the author was to leave a piece of memory in respect to the events that challenged the citizens of the region during the war for the future generations to come. He gives information on the Russian and Turkish troops, the course of military operations, despoliations and cruelties, stores at that time and people living in Elena, spies, hunger, epidemic diseases and the preservation of people`s properties during the war.<\/p>\n

DIGITAL MEMORY COMMUNICATION AND SECRET<\/strong><\/p>\n


\nAbstract. <\/strong>The paper deals with the problem of storage options and the capabilities of permanently preservation of the intellectual resources of our times through digitalization, mobility and migration and draws attention to a new resource \u2013 information that is kept in secret. Centralized information in large repositories of historical memory will never be able to catch the avalanche of information regarding the available capacity. The modern archivist is a manager of the corporate conduct for the archival information resources. A transition is needed to the so called „virtual archive“ to cooperate with other global information resources available. Many people perceive the Internet as an automatic expression of social and technological progress. Now it becomes clear that information has a dark side and this is the secret. Meanwhile Wikileaks becomes a collective space for more than one million documents and manages to give us the idea about how the world would look without boundaries.<\/p>\n
