social education; social assistance; social work<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>SOCIAL PEDAGOGY AND SOCIAL WORK \u2013 SIMILARITY IN THE SIGNIFIERS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Abstract.<\/strong> The purpose of this article is to outline the similarities in the areas designated by the concepts of social pedagogy and social work, by examining <br \/>the nature of the relationship between them, and to argue possible directions for their differentiation. The hypothesis of the study is that there is similarity in the <br \/>meanings signi\ufb01ed by social pedagogy and social work, and even that within certain parameters this similarity represents uniformity. The methods of the study <br \/>are theoretical review and education documents in English, French, Russian and Bulgarian from the recent years. The main \ufb01ndings show that these signi\ufb01ers denote processes that help interventions; they reflect the process of connection between helping and receiving help; they develop similar forms of intervention based on an individualized clinical approach centered on the needs of people, individually and in a group or community.
