PUBLIC AWARENESS OF DYSLEXIA IN BALKAN COUNTRIES
Abstract. The purpose of this study was to conduct a survey of public awareness of dyslexia in five Balkan countries. Participants were surveyed about basic knowledge of dyslexia and included the populations of Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Bulgaria, and Croatia. The general public has insufficient knowledge of dyslexia in most Balkan countries, its causes and support that could be organized.

ДИАХРОННО РАЗВИТИЕ И СЪЩНОСТ НА СЪВРЕМЕННИТЕ НАКЛОНЕНИЯ В ИНДОЕВРОПЕЙСКИТЕ ЕЗИЦИ

Absract. Настоящата статия си поставя за цел да обобщи постигнатото през последните повече от сто години в сферата на реконструирането на системата на праиндоевропейското наклонение и да представи най-вероятния произход и развой на наклоненията в съвременните индоевропейски езици. Като методологична основа на сравнително-историческия подход е използвана теоретичната постановка на Байби и др. (1994) за диахронното развитие на модалните системи от агенс-ориентирана модалност през говорещ-ориентирана или през епистемична към подчинителна модалност. Този фокус върху целта и обекта на изследването позволяват на авторите да заключат, че в праиндоевропейския наблюдаваме вече състояние на говорещ-ориентирана модалност и че преходът от говорещ-ориентирана към подчинителна модалност със синтактично-оптативни функции на конюнктива на практика е резултат от промяната на езиковия тип в индоевропейските езици от активен към номинативен. Все пак, въпреки че в съвременните индоевропейски езици преобладаващата модална система е подчинителната, говорещ-ориентираните корени на тази подчинителност са проследими в редица явления, като купитивните функции на конюнктива, някои инюнктивни форми на императива, модалните употреби на бъдещето, миналото време и кондиционала и много други.

DIACHRONIC DEVELOPMENT AND NATURE OF THE MOODS IN THE CONTEMPORARY INDO-EUROPEAN LANGUAGES
Abstract. The purpose of this article is to summarize what has been achievedover the past 100 years in the field of reconstruction of the system of the Indo-European mood and to present the most probable origin and development of moods in the contemporary Indo-European languages. As methodological basis of the comparative-historical approach was used the theory of Bybee et al. (1994) for the diachronic development of modal systems from agent-oriented modality through speaking-oriented or epistemic to subordinate modality. This focus on the purpose and the subject of the study allows the authors to conclude that in the Indo-European proto-language we are already observing a state of speaker-oriented modality and that the transition from speaker-oriented to subordinate modality with the syntactic and optative functions of the subjunctive is in fact the result of the change of the linguistic type of the Indo-European languages from active to nominative. Still, though in modern IE languages the predominant modal system is the subordinate one, the speaker-oriented roots of this subordination can be traced back to a number of phenomena such as the cupitive functions of the subjunctive, some injunctive forms of the imperative, the modal uses of the future, of the past tense and the conditional, and many others.

Absract. След отхвърлянето на граматико-преводния метод на преподаване в чуждоезиковото обучение използването на поезия в учебниците по испански език значително се ограничава и въпреки усилията на съвременните испански учени да я реабилитират теоретично като ценен дидактичен инструмент в овладяването на основните езикови умения, авторите на новите учебни системи по испански език като чужд продължават да ѝ отреждат съвсем второстепенна, помощна роля, да я използват като илюстративен материал или изобщо да я пренебрегват. Настоящата статия има за цел да покаже какви са основните тенденции в използването на поетични текстове в преподаването на испански език като чужд въз основа на сравнителен анализ на значителен корпус от учебни системи, издадени или актуализирани след 2000 г.

THE USE OF POETIC TEXTS IN MODERN SPANISH LANGUAGE TEXTBOOKS
Abstract. After abolishing the grammar-translation method in foreign language teaching, the use of poetry in Spanish language textbooks is considerably restricted. Despite the efforts of modern Spanish academics to rehabilitate it theoretically as a valuable didactic tool in the acquisition of principal language skills, the authors of recent Spanish language textbooks (for speakers of other languages) continue to accord it a secondary function, to apply it as illustrative material or to totally ignore it. The present article sets the aim of demonstrating the main tendencies in using poetic texts in Spanish language teaching on the basis of a comparative analysis of a considerable corpus of textbooks, published and edited after 2000.

REFLECTIONS ON APPROACHES TO LANGUAGE AND CULTURE AND THEIR RELEVANCE TO PUBLISHING AND LIBRARIANSHIP DURING SULTAN ABDÜLHAMID II PERIOD: ISTANBUL UNIVERSITY’S RARE BOOKS LIBRARY
Abstract. As a result of the developments in the fields of technology, communication and transportation, the world is becoming more and more diverse. Consequently, it is natural that in almost every society, the profile of the library user from different cultures is also importaant. Libraries, having indisputable signiuficance in the educational and cultural development of individuals, are those institutions that make all the effort to provide equal opportunities for their members.
In this study, the importance of linguistic and cultural diversity from the perspective of library services has been briefly examined. Some reflections on the language policies during the reign of Abdulhamid II on publication and library life are presented. The language structure of the Yıldız Palace Library Collection, which belongs to the period of Abdülhamid II and is still in the Rare Books Library of Istanbul University is briefly evaluated.

Absract. Статията разглежда първия сборник с литературни приказки на европейската сцена като продължение на новелистичната традиция да генерира повествователна ситуация, в която да се разкажат истории. Първите приказки се появяват именно в сборник с новели, но истинското утвърждаване на приказката като литературен жанр става, когато и обрамчващият разказ е приказка. Преминаването от новелата към приказка е продиктувано от променения литературен вкус и някои общи жанрови признаци.

FROM THE FAIRY TALE TO THE NOVEL AND BACK, OR THE BIRTH OF THE ITALIAN LITERARY FAIRY TALE WITH JAMBATISTA BASILE‘S “TALES OF TALES”
Abstract. The article discusses the first collection of literary fairy tales on the European scene as a continuationof the novelistic tradition to generate a narrative situation in which to tell the stories. The first fairy tales appeared in a collection of novellas, but the real affirmation of the fairy tale as a literary genre occurs when a framed story is a fairy tale. The transition from novella to fairy tale is dictated by the changed literary taste and some common genre features.
