Diary of the round table of the Department of Social Pedagogy and Social Work, Sofia University
At the end of November the Department of Social Pedagogy and Social Work organised a round table on the topic "Preparation of Social Pedagogues – Competences and Realisation". For the second time since 2006, the Department gathers professors from academic society and the universities that teach social pedagogy, representatives of the institutions and organisations where alumni of the Department have found realisation, as well as past and current students and PhD students.

What represented here is statement of students about the quality of training and their expectations about professional realization. Preparation of Social Pedagogues - Competences, Standards, Perspectives

The article dedicated to the need for а greater affiliation of the preparation of the specialists from the helping professions, especially of those from the major social pedagogy in the Bulgarian universities, to the requirements of the labour market. Proposed as а possiЫe approach is the one through competences, which assumes focusing of the goals of education on а number of skills, on -knowledge and dispositions that allow the implementation at а competent level of the activities that constitute а profession. Considering that in Bulgaria there are no developed standards for the helping professions, based on analysis of standards f or activities in the -sphere of social work the connection between professional activities and training in the presence of competent implementation of individualized intervention is illustrated. The arguments f or the selection of the approach is deduced f rom the possibilities for а better organized and internally coherent curriculum, clear indicators for assessment of the educational programs, and common understanding about the goals of education.

Is There a Need of Specific Adult Education Management?

The main point of author’s interest is adult education management as а specific type of management. Different approaches to selection and grouping of different types of maпagement аге presented and discussed. The basic argument about need of а specific adult educatioп management is nature of adult education as practice – opportunities for adults to learn, realized through many types, forms, institutions of adult education in the lifelong learning context. According author’s idea, there is many reasons for development of а specific adult education management: adult education system is а reality in every country; more of adult education institutions are private and the rules of their management are closer to the business’ and market’s maпagement than to the schools’ management; the teaching and learning process with adults is based on an andragogical approach tl1an on pedagogical one. Author discusses dimensions of adult education management, it’s scientific and research areas (based on different approaches), and it’s relationships with theory of management, theory of educational management, and theory of adult education (andragogy).
The Result of Conducting Psychosocial Training of Students

The article provides data for the efficiency of social-psychological training of students based on а ten year study of 1500 students from 3 universities.
The results have been analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively in regards to gender, educational degree and form of tuition. Percentage distribution and one factor dispersion analysis of the results have been made bу using the program SPSS. The results show that as а consequence of the training students improve their communicative competence, emotional expression, self-discovery and discovery of others. The results build а pattern showing that the effects of the social-psychological training are more valuaЫe for women, candidates for а master’s degree and the students whose lectures are organized in blocks.

Based on archive sources, the article analyses the education and training of Bulgarian cadets at Sankt Petersburg Naval Corps (Russia) in the period 1899-1914.
The article stipulates the time frame of this educatioп. It also points out the reasons for its recurreпce in the stated period and the contribution of the officers, graduates from the Sankt Peteгsburg Naval Corps for the establishment of the Bulgarian naval educational system.
