Abstract. The article presents a review of research on gratitude and its effects on subjective well-being, health, optimal functioning and development. Various activities and programs through which gratitude can be developed in the school space are examined, as well as the empirical evidence for their effectiveness. Some specific effects of gratitude on school satisfaction, the creation of a positive school climate and changes in academic motivation and achievement are also examined.
